Top of the Mourne Triathlon 2010

The Top Of the Mourne Triathlon on Sunday 25th July 2010 , organised by Newry Triathlon Club ,is now open for entry.

The course commencing at the foot of the Mournes in Rostrevor village Co.Down will push every competitor to their limit. The Course boasts fantastic routes and testing trails as well as spectacular views. The race will start with a swim in Carlingford Lough 1500m, followed by a cycle route across the Mournes Mountains up to the famous Spelga Dam before returning to Kilbroney Park to finish with a 10k run along the foot of the Mournes.

The race coincides with "Fiddlers Green International Festival" (18th -25th July) in Rostrevor. There will be free outdoor ceilis, an open air stage, art exhibitions and children's entertainment with all musical tastes catered for (folk, blues, country, classical), with lunchtime, early evening and night time folk clubs. It promises to be a great weekend not only for competitors but the whole family.

   Top of the Mourne Training

Well done to all those who completed Camlough on Saturday. Next challenge, is to increase the distance and head for the 'Top of the Mourne'.....

Entry closes in 32 days and there are presently spaces available.

For all those entered or entering for 'Top of the Mourne' we are hoping to have a few training sessions along the course/route. Tonight Milo has suggested a run followed by a sea swim to break us all in gently!!! Meeting at 7pm at the transition spot at the gates to Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor.
